2011 General Conference Re-run

A 33 member Deaf choir opened the Home Missions Service with a powerful song: Right Time, Right Place by Kurt Carr. The Spirit of the Lord moved and the Deaf choir was a blessing to all.

Rev. WI Black – prayed a prayer in 1976 that lives on “We pray that this vision will reach the length and breadthe of our entire fellowship. We pray that every little church by the cross roads will find out what it means to be able to reach someone with the gospel who cannot hear the preaching of the Word.” Perhaps by the hand of God his son Rev. Terry Black preached a stirring message “Guardians of the Lost Cause” following the Deaf choir on Thursday night! If you missed the message try clicking the following link http://www.homemissionsdivision.com/deaf/ to view the ASL General Conference services as they will be available for viewing for a limited time.

Prayer for Bishop Kenneth Haney
As reported recently, our former general superintendent, Kenneth Haney, has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. There has been a tremendous outpouring of prayer and support from around the world. Today Sister Haney told me that his condition has stabilized and he is not in pain, so we are thankful for God’s hand at work. Let’s believe for a miracle of healing. Let’s also pray for God to give grace and strength to the Haney family. For updates, go to http://www.clministry.com.

Other Special Prayer Needs
Joseph Carpenter, superintendent of the Michigan District, is in the hospital battling with cancer.

The news media is reporting on a pastor who is facing execution overseas. Let’s pray for his deliverance.

Sincerely in Christ,
David K. Bernard
