Greetings in Jesus’ Name to All Deaf and Hearing Friends and Family

Anibal and Maribeth Moreno, (couple on back row – Maribeth is in pink – son Dallas in front) a deaf/hearing family have experienced a tragic event. Maribeth Moreno passed away last night (around 11:30 pm) from cardiac arrest.
The Moreno Family attend the Souls’ Harbor Pentecostal Church in Belleview, Florida under the pastorship of Bishop James Varnum and Lead Pastor Jason Varnum.
Maribeth experienced a long term heart condition and was under the care of expert cardio-physicians. She was admitted into a hospital on Thursday/Friday to undergo surgery. The surgery was successful. As a preventive/maintenance measure, doctors placed Maribeth on an aspirator machine and kept her sedated after the surgery. Tuesday, the physicians took her off the machines and Maribeth came out of sedation for a very short period of time…then she started experiencing post-operation stress with her heart. She was placed back on life support late Tuesday evening. Doctor’s and nurses worked with Maribeth for an extended period of time, but were unable to keep her body from ‘coding’.
Maribeth passed away Tuesday night in the hospital. She is survived by her dear husband, Anibal (who is deaf) and three (hearing) children- “Dee Dee”, Darla and Dallas and precious parents and sisters. Please keep the Moreno family in your prayers.
I am coordinating with Chad Wicker, Jo Alice Walker and Sherry Jertberg as means to keep all of you informed of the Moreno Family Tragedy. As our friends and family, we ask you respond sensitively toward their loss. Many of the updates may come via Facebook, but Anibal and his family are not in an emotional condition to respond to all your inquiries. Please pray for them. Maribeth’s family also attends Souls’ Harbor Church and are a very close knit family.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11 AM at Souls Harbor First Pentecostal Church, 12650 SE Highway 484, Belleview with Bishop James E. Varnum and Pastor Jason Varnum officiating. A special thank you to Sherry Jertberg, Chad and Rita Wicker for keeping us informed. In this very sad time of loss, let us remember that God has it all in His control. His ways are past finding out, but we know…with confidence, God is faithful and loving toward His people.
Maribeth Moreno, a beautiful life of sweetness and goodness has influenced our hearts and lives in so many ways. She was a positive person and very resourceful. She loved a good story and her laughter was good like a medicine. And she was a great cook! She devoted her life to God first, and the legacy she left behind in her children and husband is a wonderful model of how are lives are to be lived. So in closing, we can be sad for losing such a virtuous woman of God, but also glad in our hearts that her reward in Heaven is great.
